Oddly enough my thoughts for today keep us in the Book of Matthews 7:1 and the “Sermon on the Mount”
Judge Not Lest You Be Judged!
We spoke yesterday about the importance of Effective Giving. Today however it has been on my heart since the elections that we are giving too much negative energy to those we perceived as doing us a miss service. We have to not be judgmental of individuals simply because they voted for their self-interests. The understanding we must take is that despite how we may feel or even what we know about a situation it is not our place to Judge another for their thoughts or opinions no matter how twisted or absurd they might be. We must pray and acknowledge that this is an issue but much like raising a child the more you fuss at them about what they should do and how they should do it, The more likely they are to rebel. I am not saying that there isn’t a place for defiance because I do believe there I a time and a place for righteous indignation, however I want us to start with love of self and others as the first and default mechanism! It is hypocritical to say and believe that as a group we make decision, and the majority will rule and then turn and say we don’t like the rule. If you believe in something like democracy, then stand on that even when it doesn’t go your way! Judge not unless you want to be Judged!
